Wood is a porous material and it isn’t possible to remove the marking if the ink has penetrated the pores of the wood.

edding permanent marker can only be removed from smooth, non-porous surfaces. Marking applied with permanent marker can be removed with ethanol, methylated spirit or isopropanol; for marking applied with paint markers, use a benzine cleaner, for example.
