We devised the red spray safety ring to prevent accidental discharge (by children, for example). The small red ring is located under the protective cap and beneath the sprayhead. If you remove the sprayhead, you'll easily be able to lift up and pull out the ring with the aid of a sharp object such as a screwdriver. Do not use excessive force as this could damage the can and cause the contents to leak. Important: the spray safety ring should be reattached after use.
