All paints (acrylic, nitro combination, synthetic resin, water-based) can be painted over with synthetic resin paints. You can only paint over synthetic resin paint with another layer of synthetic resin paint. Acrylic paints and nitro combination paints can't be applied over synthetic resin as they are incompatible and this would result in the paint “lifting”.
