This effect unfortunately occurs when the paper does not match the ink. When the ink is applied, the paper absorbs the smaller blue pigments and the larger silver pigments remain on the surface, causing the writing to appear silver. Since the pigments of the different colours differ, this effect does not occur with every colour of the fibre-tip pen.
