Energy management in accordance with DIN ISO 50001 requires the annual improvement of energy efficiency. We are helping to improve energy efficiency by using green electricity in Germany but also increasingly at our international sites and by generating electricity through our own photovoltaic systems. 
Furthermore, we have combined heat and power plants in operation at some sites. LED lighting, the control of lighting by motion detectors and light sensors make a significant contribution to reducing electricity consumption, but individual site-specific measures also save electricity. This is done, for example, by using the waste heat from a canteen cold room to heat water. Our more sustainable vehicle fleet also contributes to reducing emissions.
